PJ Moran
Actor.
Carpenter.
Kid at Heart.
Hello!
My name is Patrick “PJ” Moran (he/him), and I am a New York City based actor, carpenter, stage combatant, educator, instrumentalist, and most importantly, kid at heart!
Originally from rural Pennsylvania, I knew from an early age I wanted to be a storyteller. After graduating high school, I studied at DeSales University in Center Valley, PA where I was involved in many productions both on and offstage. Onstage I had the pleasure of tackling Shakespeare (Oliver in As You Like It), Euripides (Talthybius in The Trojan Women), Molière (Orgon in Tartuffe), and more! When behind the scenes, I loved working in both the scenic and props departments, and was able to serve as Lead Carpenter on two shows (Our Town and Pirates! Theodore Thud and the Quest for Weird Beard). It was there I discovered that I loved being involved with the creation of art, no matter what position I might have in the process! Before and after graduation, I also worked with The Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival. I was the Deck Chief for the Festival’s Summer 2021 season, and an Actor for their Willpower Tours in 2022 (Hamlet) and 2023 (Romeo & Juliet).
Upon moving to NYC, I had the privilege to serve as the Head Carpenter for The Play that Goes Wrong Off-Broadway, joining the production in September 2024 at New World Stages and running the automation track for the production there for a year. I continue to sub there and at several other theatres and shows around the city as a carpenter, props manager, puppet-wrangler, and more!
Most recently I have had the joy of performing in The Woke Tragedy of Richard III: Dyke of Gloucester with &Sons Productions as the characters of George and Edward!
Outside of the world of performance, props and woodworking, I enjoy hiking the countryside, writing short stories and poetry, and playing Mario Kart or D&D with my roommates and friends!
